Class Description:

Amplifying Waves is a two-week intensive for teens that offers a safer space for LGBTQ+ identifying youth and allies, to explore their identities through creativity. Participating students will have the opportunity to

1. Learn DJ and electronic music skills in a safe-space that encourages open-ended play, experimentation, and collaboration.

2. Make new friends through intentional conversations and activities that ask you to consider the identities that you currently hold, and parts of yourself that you wish to explore deeper.

3. Begin individual and group projects that address local community challenges, using electronic music and audio collage to tell stories and advocate for change.

This pilot program has been made possible by Aloha Map, Hawaii Community Foundation - Change Grant, West Hawaii Community Health Center, the Kūki'o Community Fund and our community of individual donors.
