Class Description: This will be a day dedicated to propagating, cultivating, harvesting, processing the wauke to dry for later use, as well as already prepared moʻo moʻo that has been soaked and fermented ready for its second beating and felting. Various practices from  Hawaii, Samoa and Tonga will be covered: Durable thick art canvas-like kapa. Soft, thin, even, and pliable fabric-like kapa. Also troubleshooting puka, uneven thick or thin areas, pulling, mold, and lack of tackiness or felting properties will be examined and discussed.
