Activity: Pinch Pots With Personalities with Emily Gleason

Get your hands in the mud! Clay is one of the most versatile, accessible and freeing mediums to explore and play with. In this art experience, you’ll learn to make a simple pinch pot out of clay and then experiment with adding and subtracting to give your pot creative detail.

Learn to make simple sculptural elements like eyes, a nose, a mouth…giving your pot a face with personality! Learn how to use tools to excise and carve into the surface of your pot to create designs, images, and messages. At the end of the class, all work will be recycled - an exercise in non-attachment that is a key part of working with clay.

Come play in the mud!

The Mill will provided: Clay and claytools
