En plein air is a French expression that means “in the open air.” It is used by artists to describe the art of outdoor painting, capturing landscapes and views in natural light. Join the pros, George Woollard and Hiroki Morinoue on the beautiful oceanfront and historical site of theThompson’s hale at Hookena Beach and explore various approaches of landscape watercolor painting. Saturday’s session will be dedicated to an outdoor investigation of nature and watercolor techniques and Sunday’s session will be at the Donkey Mill Art Center, focused on studio explorations, demos and continuing the work from the day before.

Class will be split into two groups and will be rotating between George and Hiroko. Class will culminate with a share out and critique with the whole group.
