"Through hands-on activities, design and create unsoldered patterned chains including basic links, Byzantine, Box weave and Persian weaves and Egyptian Spiral and Fleur de Link as time permits. Examples and demonstrations will be presented with hands-on practice for each chain. Participants will leave with the information to reproduce these styles of chains outside of class.

Demonstrations of the chains listed, use of tools and manipulation of wire and sheet will occur throughout the day. Beginners will learn the basics of creating chains and experienced participants can design, refine and advance their skills by learning chain patterns and different processes for making chains. By the end of this workshop each participant will learn to use the tools and equipment successfully and will understand pertinent safety. Each student will learn 2-5 chain processes and possibly complete them to make a silver or copper chain. A perfect gift for the upcoming holiday season.
